The Temple of Hatshepsut: The impressive Temple of Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs of Egypt, is located on the west bank of Luxor, about 3 kilometers from the Nile River near the Valley of the Kings. It dates back to around 1450 BC and differs from all other Egyptian temples in its unusual terraced architecture. The temple itself is well preserved and has a large number of smaller cappings.
